Opera Conductor
In the 2023-2024 season, Walker Jermaine will serve as Assistant Conductor for Bronx Opera in their double-bill production of Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and Rossini’s Il Signor Bruschino.
In 2022-2023 season, Walker Jermaine Jackson officially began his long awaited journey of opera conducting In 2023, he served as the Assistant Conductor and Orchestra Contractor for the Little Opera Theater of New York’s (LOTNY’s) production of Highway 1, USA by William Grant Still and Down in the Valley by Kurt Weill. He went on to conduct a successful performance, which received the following review:

Music Director
in 2022, Walker Jermaine began as a Music Director of the Brooklyn Children’s Theater in Park Slope, where he music directed the “A”, “B”, and Teen Ensemble. He also accompanied and served as music director for BCT’s Spring Gala, honoring Viola Davis.
In 2019, Walker Jermaine was offered the position of Music Director for the Off-Broadway show “Billie, Malcolm, and Yusef” which played at the Castillo Theater on 42nd Street, sponsored by the All-Stars Project. He served as vocal coach, pianist, and off-stage singer for the performance. He continues to work along side the Castillo Theater and All-Stars Projects, where he was one of three recipients of their new Artists of Color Fellowship. There, he has begun to compose new works and collaborate on future musical projects.
Walker Jermaine has always been an avid music educator, as he has taught music and choral ensemble at a multitude of schools throughout Manhattan, as well as Brooklyn, Yonkers, and the Bronx. Specializing in adolescent voices, he was also served as Director of Youth Choirs at the historic Plymouth Church in Brooklyn, where he served for almost 5 years.
After leaving Plymouth, in 2018 he began serving as Minister of Music at St. Catherine of Genoa in Hamilton Heights, as well as Choir Director at St. Angela Merici in the Bronx, where he taught, played, and directed a choir for a weekly Mass. In 2019, he was called to join St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Paterson, New Jersey, where he has served as Minister of Music and Choir Master since 2019.
He currently serves as Assistant Conductor and Chorus Master for New Rochelle Opera, with whom he prepared the chorus for J. Strauss’ Die Fledermaus. He was recently seen accompanying a concert performance of opera arias and ensembles for New Rochelle Opera.
